The Story of Stella Alpina
The Stella Alpina brand was founded in the 1950s in Moio de Calvi, in the Upper Brembana Valley (Bergamo). A symbol of purity and quality, Stella Alpina water springs from a source located on the southern side of Mount Toracchio, in the Orobie Prealps. Situated at an altitude of 900 meters, the spring benefits from an exceptionally pure and protected natural environment.
The Stella Alpina plant is located approximately two kilometers from our BBM showroom in Lenna and represents a historic bottling brand for the people of the Brembana Valley. For decades, Stella Alpina water has been present on our tables, packaged both in its iconic “returnable glass” format and in more recent PET containers.
BBM’s Technical Intervention
Thanks to its twenty years of experience, BBM stands out in technical support and assistance activities for the installation of new or used bottling plants, both single-brand and multi-brand. In December 2023, BBM was involved in the startup of a new SMI bottling and packaging line at Stella Alpina. BBM supervised the installation of the PET line, designed to bottle still and sparkling water in multiple formats and capable of reaching a speed of 18,000 bph.
In just four weeks, BBM technicians, working in teams of 5 and 9 people, installed and started up the line after a detailed study of the layout provided by the manufacturer. Specifically, the line consists of: a blow molder/filler/capper/labeller triblock, shrink wrapper, palletizer and stretch wrapper. All bottle and pack conveyors were also installed.
The formats installed on the line:
- 500 ml bottle in 4×3 pack;
- 500 ml bottles in 6×4 pack;
- 1000 ml bottle in 3×2 pack;
- 1500 ml bottle in 3×2 pack;
One of the innovations of the bottling line is its innovative layout: bottles are labeled before being filled. This configuration is designed to prevent the labeling of wet or damp bottles, avoiding adhesion loss and ensuring superior label quality.
